The UST Growling Tigers’ backcourt gained a boost after securing the commitment of Cebuano guard Henry Suico.
Suico’s decision, first reported by Naveen Ganglani of All-Star Magazine on Saturday, came down to UST and De La Salle University, before he eventually chose the Growling Tigers.
The 6-foot-1 guard played high school ball with the Sacred Heart School–Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, followed by a short stint with the Ateneo Blue Eagles in Manila.
Suico received interest from UAAP and NCAA programs before trying out for and committing to UST.
He has since played in numerous scrimmages with the Growling Tigers.
In January, he went to Madrid, Spain, to train under Spanish national coaches alongside other international prospects.
Suico also played in the NBA Academy Asia Development Camp in 2023 in Singapore.

Suico’s addition will strengthen the Growling Tigers’ backcourt rotation, which lost key players Forthsky Padrigao and Kyle Paranada.
