UST Tiger Cub Joaquin Ludovice is set to depart España and continue his collegiate career with the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers, the Varsitarian has learned.
Ludovice’s transfer, first reported by Naveen Ganglani of All-Star Magazine and Tiebreaker Times on Wednesday, was reportedly viewed as the “best move for his development and growth as a guard in the collegiate ranks.”
In an interview with the Varsitarian on March 15, Ludovice said he had no intention of transferring and described UST as his “first option” for college basketball.
Ludovice transferred from San Beda-Rizal to the UST high school program in 2023 before helping the Tiger Cubs capture the championship in Season 87.
However, the Tiger Cubs ended this season in sixth place with a 5-9 record. He averaged 11.5 points, 2.21 rebounds and 2.93 assists.
Ludovice also joined Gilas Pilipinas Youth and participated in the NBA Basketball Without Borders camp in 2024.
Ludovice joins former Tiger Cubs Jacob Cortez and Doy Dungo at La Salle. He will enter Grade 12 next year and will have five years of eligibility beginning in Season 90.
