The Ateneo Blue Eagles have pulled out of the FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup, the league announced on Sunday, June 14.
The UST Growling Tigers, who improved to 2-2 following back-to-back victories, were originally scheduled to face the Blue Eagles on June 16.
Ateneo’s withdrawal comes as authorities continue to investigate the team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora, where players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili drowned on June 8.
The Blue Eagles played just one game in the tournament, defeating the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 72-52, on June 6.
UST is now set to face the NU Bulldogs on Thursday, June 18, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
