The UST Growling Tigers bolstered their backcourt after landing the commitment of Filipino-Australian guard Jett Wilson.
Wilson’s commitment was first reported by Naveen Ganglani of All-Star Magazine on July 27 after Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management confirmed the move.
He will have five years of eligibility when he starts his collegiate career with UST.
The 18-year-old previously suited up in Australia’s junior ranks for the Gold Coast Waves and North Gold Coast Seahawks. He earned Most Valuable Player honors during his U17 and U18 campaigns with the Seahawks and the Hurricanes organization.
Wilson also competed in the Philippines for Team Clifford in the Players Only Prelude, where he earned a spot on the Mythical First Team after recording 179 points and 13 steals over the course of the tournament.
His arrival adds depth to the Growling Tigers’ backcourt alongside fellow incoming rookie Kirk Cañete and Mur Alao following the departures of Forthsky Padrigao and Kyle Paranada.
