Playing her board
UST LADY Woodpusher Jaclyn Johnson is versatility personified. Her ability to manage her time between playing competitive chess and working as a nurse at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital is a feat not many could accomplish.
Johnson, taking up a masteral course in Nursing Administration at the UST Graduate School, leads contrasting lives on and off the playing arena.
Woodpushers run away with runner-up finishes
THE UST Woodpushers weathered all odds stacked against them as they managed to pull through in their final assignments to grab first runner-up finishes in the final playdate of the UAAP chess competitions last Sept. 22 at the University of the East briefing room.
The Tiger Woodpushers used Andrew Seggara’s board two loss to De La Salle’s Chong Ming as a rallying point to upend the Green Archers, 2.5-1.5.
Lady Woodpushers, nangunguna pa rin
TILA hindi na magpapaawat ang UST Lady Woodpushers sa kanilang kampanya ngayong UAAP season matapos nilang talunin ang Adamson University, 4–0, noong Agosto 26 sa briefing room ng University of the East.
