The UST Teletigers Esports Club ended its UAAP Mobile Legends: Bang Bang campaign without a semifinals berth after splitting their games with the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Aces, 1-1, on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the MVP Studios in Mandaluyong.

With two wins in six games, the Teletigers finished fourth in Group A, while NU and DLSU secured the semifinal spots.

UST needed a sweep against DLSU to advance to the semifinals.

Juliann Ortega’s Fanny secured the first two turtles in Game 1, helping UST take a slim 500-gold lead. The Green Aces responded by capitalizing on the Teletigers’ overstay, grabbing a 6-1 kill advantage and a 1,000-gold cushion.

DLSU maintained its momentum, taking down the Lord at the 14-minute mark and extending its gold lead to 5,000. UST contested the next Lord but eventually lost the clash and the game.

The Teletigers dominated the turtle objectives again in Game 2, building a 5,000-gold lead and a 6-1 kill advantage by the seven-minute mark. A two-man Fatal Links from Arjohn Roxas’ Atlas pushed UST’s lead to 6,000 a minute later.

UST controlled the final clash and closed out Game 2 in 18 minutes, with Den Balingit’s Novaria delivering crucial Astral Recalls.

Matt Cañarejo led the Teletigers across the two games with a 6-4-6 kill-death-assist record, while Balingit contributed a 1-1-11 line. Jay-z V. Perez
