The UST Junior Golden Booters absorbed their second defeat in the UAAP Season 88 boys’ football tournament after falling to the Far Eastern University-Diliman (FEU-Diliman) Baby Tamaraws, 3-1, on Saturday, March 14, at the UP Diliman Football Pitch.

FEU-Diliman secured the No. 1 seed with 25 points and a plus-25 goal differential.

The Baby Tamaraws struck late in the first half when Enzo Panganiban beat UST’s backline in the 42nd minute to give FEU-Diliman a 1-0 lead.

The Junior Golden Booters created several chances early in the second half but failed to convert.

Jacob Keleghan doubled the Baby Tamaraws’ advantage in the 81st minute through a counterattack before completing his brace from the penalty spot in the 90th minute after UST fouled inside the box.

UST forward Argos Alingalan trimmed the deficit in stoppage time, finding the back of the net in the 95th minute.

The Junior Golden Booters will face the De La Salle Zobel Junior Green Booters on Wednesday, March 18, at the same venue.
