Two UST Junior Golden Booters secured major individual honors in UAAP Season 88, where the team finished with the silver medal on Friday, April 10, at the UP Football Pitch.

Forward Argos Alingalan captured the Golden Boot, the award given to the season’s top scorer. He was also recognized as Best Striker after leading the tournament in goals with nine in 13 matches.

In the championship match, where the Junior Golden Booters fell to the FEU-Diliman Baby Tamaraws, 2-1, the graduating Alingalan recorded an assist, setting up Roy Panunciar in the 44th minute before UST conceded twice in the final 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, JM Visitacion earned the Best Midfielder award, edging out teammate Josh Moleje, who was also a strong contender and last season’s winner.

The UST forward anchored the Golden Booters’ offense with consistent scoring, highlighted by a hat trick against the Claret Red Roosters on Feb. 21.

Other individual awardees included Far Eastern University-Diliman’s Jimm Fabela, who was named Best Defender, and Ateneo de Manila University’s Zarius Patawaran, who took home the Best Goalkeeper honor.

Adamson University’s Marc Hayahay was named Rookie of the Year, while the Red Roosters received the Fair Play award.
