UST Tiger Judokas Chino Sy and Margaret Fajardo anchored the Philippine judo team that captured gold in the mixed team event at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand on Sunday, Dec. 14.
The victory marked Sy’s second gold medal of the tournament after winning the men’s -100 kg event, while Fajardo secured her first SEA Games medal.
Also part of the team were former UST Lady Judoka and UAAP Season 81 Most Valuable Player Khrizzie Pabulayan, Gabriel Benedict Quitain, Randy Ferrera Jr., John Viron Ferrer, Rhyan Zarchie Garay, Esleken Kedo, Joemari-Heart Rafael, Leah Jhane Lopez, and Maxine Mababangloob.
Kedo sealed the gold for the Philippines with a dominant win against a heavier opponent, clinching the crown without the need for additional bouts.
The national team wrapped up its SEA Games campaign with two gold medals, three silvers, and two bronzes.
