Navy Sea Lions trounce Tiger Spikers

THE PG-JC Navy Sea Lions thrashed the UST Tiger Spikers in three sets, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18, in the Spikers’ Turf 2019 Open Conference at the Paco Arena.

The Navy started strong early, securing the opening canto after a 6-1 run that broke a 19-all tie.

UST kept the second set close until the Navy ignited a 6-2 run, capped by Lorenz Senoron’s attack error.

Navy Greg Dolor‘s block on Senoron in the third set prevented the Tiger Spikers from extending the game.

Senoron led UST with 10 points while Genesis Redido added eight markers.

Greg Dolor posted 10 points while Rosete chipped in nine points for the Navy.

The Tiger Spikers committed 32 errors compared to 27 of from the veteran Navy Sea Lions.

UST now shares the second spot with the Navy, with 3-2 win-lose records.

The Tiger Spikers will next face the undefeated Sta. Elena National University Ball Hammers on Sept. 22, 3 p.m., at the same venue.
