UST Golden Tigresses head tactician Shaq Delos Santos will join the Alas Pilipinas national team coaching staff under Tai Bundit for the 2026 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Volleyball Cup.
The assignment marks Delos Santos’ return to the national team setup after previously serving as head coach from 2018 to 2021.
Bundit, who was named head coach of the Alas Pilipinas women’s team in February, is a decorated figure in the UAAP.
He guided the Ateneo Blue Eagles to UAAP championships in Seasons 76 and 77 during his tenure from Season 76 to 80.
Also joining the coaching staff are Creamline Cool Smashers head coach Sherwin Meneses and former University of the Philippines women’s volleyball head coach Benson Bocboc.
Delos Santos steered the UST Golden Tigresses to a bronze-medal finish in Season 88 during his first year back at the helm.
Delos Santos was also the last coach to lead the Golden Tigresses to a UAAP title in 2010.
He likewise served as head coach of the Cignal HD Spikers from 2020 until the team filed a leave of absence from the league in April.
The 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup is scheduled from June 6 to 14 in Candon, Ilocos Sur.
