Former and current UST Tiger Jins brought home multiple medals from the 7th Kimunyong Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships (G1) held in Seoul, South Korea, from July 25 to 28.
UST team captain Nash Alcairo captured gold in taekwondo chejo as part of Philippines Team A alongside Stella Yape and former Poomsae Jins Darius Venerable and Aidaine Laxa.
Former Lady Jin Nicole Labayne teamed up with Ian Matthew Corton to win the gold medal in the recognized poomsae pairs under-30 event.
Former Poomsae Jin Kobe Macario also struck gold after partnering with Juliana Mykhail Candelaria in the freestyle poomsae mixed pairs over-17 category.
Laxa and Labayne earned a silver medal in the recognized poomsae team female under-30 event.
Macario, Corton, Labayne, former Tiger Jin Jocel Ninobla and Poomsae Jin Jeus Yape secured a bronze medal with Philippines Team B in taekwondo chejo.
Stella Yape added a bronze medal in the recognized poomsae team female under-30 category, while Venerable collected another bronze after pairing with Zyka Santiago in the freestyle poomsae mixed pairs over-17.
In the kyorugi competition, Tiger Jin Aljen Aynaga finished with a bronze medal in the men’s under-58kg division.
UST head coaches Rani Ortega and Gershon Bautista were recognized as Best Coach in the poomsae and kyorugi tournaments, respectively.
