Tiger Softbelles thrash UE
NU dismantles Tiger Softbelles
Feb. 11, 2015, 9:15 p.m. - INCONSISTENCY on both ends haunted the UST Tiger Softbelles who suffered a 2-7 beating at the hands of National University in the UAAP Season 77 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum Wednesday.
Trailing by five points, the Tiger Softbelles tried to mount a comeback in the seventh inning, but NU's pitching and defense were too much to overcome.

Feb. 11, 2015, 8:04 p.m. - THE UST Golden Tigresses' Final Four hopes remain in limbo after suffering a 18-25, 22-25, 22-25 defeat against the undefeated defending champion Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles in the UAAP Season 77 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena Wednesday.
With back-to-back losses, the Golden Tigresses, now with a 5-7 win-loss record, are locked in a tight race against National University, University of the Philippines, Adamson University and Far Eastern University for the last two semifinal berths.
Salinggawi places 6th in UAAP streetdance
Feb. 8, 2015, 9:32 p.m. - THE UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (SDT) settled for sixth place in the 4th UAAP Streetdance Competition at the Mall of Asia Arena Sunday.
The SDT, who showcased dance styles like b-boying, waacking, krumping, and modern hip-hop, got a total score of 143.7 points, a far cry from the 178 points posted by the UP Streetdance Club who won their second consecutive title.
The Company of Ateneo Dancers registered 167.3 points for second place, followed by La Salle Dance Company with 167 points.

Cebu standout to join Growling Tigers next season
THE UST Growling Tigers has recruited Cebuano guard Zachary Huang of the reigning Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) juniors champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles.
“I am really a competitive person and in Manila there is a higher level of competition and that is why I opted to go there rather than stay in Cebu,” Huang told the Varsitarian in an email.
The 6’2’’ combo guard said UST was the only UAAP school that offered him a slot after Tigers head coach Bong dela Cruz saw him in action during the 2014 Palarong Pambansa.
Golden Sox drop second straight vs. La Salle
Feb. 5, 2015, 4:57 p.m. - THE UST Golden Sox absorbed their second defeat after a 0-2 decision against De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 77 baseball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Thursday.
Batting problems caused the Golden Sox to drop to third place with a 2-2 win-loss record behind defending champion Ateneo de Manila University and the Green Archers.
Golden Sox head coach Jeffrey Santiago rued the offensive collapse in the first inning where they failed to convert even with the second and third bases loaded.
At the bottom of the sixth inning, La Salle's Dino Imperial took advantage of a UST catching error in the third base to score another run and put the match away.
Golden Tigresses sweep FEU for 4th straight win
Feb. 01, 2015, 6:12 p.m. - THE UST Golden Tigresses stretched their winning streak to four after a masterful 25-19, 25-21, 25-23 win over the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in the second round of the UAAP Season 77 women's volleyball tournament at the San Juan Arena Sunday.
After starting the season with a five-game losing skid, UST has now won its fourth straight game to grab solo third place with a 5-5 win-loss record.
EJ Laure took over for the Golden Tigresses, who remain undefeated in the second round, with a team-high 17 points. Pam Lastimosa added 12.

La Salle trips UST Golden Booters
Jan. 29, 2015, 7:56 p.m. - AN UNDERMANNED UST Golden Booters absorbed their sixth loss after a 0-1 decision against De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 77 men's football tournament at the FEU-Diliman pitch Thursday.
The Golden Booters, who lost team captain Gino Clarino to ejection in the second half, had a hard time penetrating the tough La Salle defense.
Green Archer Christian Zubiri nailed the lone goal of the match in the 10th minute, taking advantage of an early defensive breakdown by UST.
