27 July 2014, 1:00 p.m. - LORE Rivera's fourth quarter heroics were not enough as the UST Growling Tigresses fell short against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 56-57, in the first round of the UAAP Season 77 women's basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle gym, Sunday.

The loss was UST's third in four games.

Rivera registered 12 of the Tigresses' 14 fourth-quarter points, including an and-one play that put them on top, 54-53, with 3:34 remaining.

But Tamaraw Angel Arellano converted on a fastbreak play to regain the lead for FEU in the last two minutes, 57-56.

26 July 2014, 3:32 p.m. - THE UST Junior Tiger Spikers opened their UAAP Season 77 boys volleyball tournament campaign on a high note after sweeping De La Salle-Zobel, 25-15, 25-15, 25-22, at the Adamson University gym, Saturday.

Down 15-20 late in the third frame, the Junior Tiger Spikers unleashed a 10-2 run, capped by back-to-back service aces of Jhun Lorenz Señoron, to steal the match.

UST struggled with five straight errors early in the third set, allowing La Salle to mount a 14-9 lead before the Junior Tiger Spikers regrouped to win the game.

24 July 2014, 4:26 p.m. - MARIELLA Isanan hit the game-winning basket to lift the UST Growling Tigresses past the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 55-54, to notch their first win of the UAAP Season 77 women's basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym, Thursday.

Isanan buried an undergoal stab off Kristine Siapoc's assist to hold off a furious Ateneo rally with 15.7 seconds left in the game.

UST improved to a 1-2 win-loss card while the Lady Eagles suffered their first defeat in three games.

The score tied at 41 heading into the fourth period, the Tigresses ignited an 8-0 run, capped by Siapoc's layup, to grab the lead, 49-41, with less than six minutes to play.
