Tiger Spikers down gritty UE Warriors
Nov. 23, 2014, 2:18 p.m. - THE UST Tiger Spikers shrugged off first game jitters and subdued a stubborn University of the East Red Warriors, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, in the UAAP Season 77 men's volleyball tournament at the The Arena in San Juan Sunday.
Down by four midway through the third set, former Most Valuable Player Mark Alfafara dropped four consecutive points, including a crosscourt hit to tie the score at 16.
UE then committed crucial errors down the stretch leading to a 7-0 UST run that gave the Tiger Spikers their first win of the season.
