The UST Junior Tennisters fell to the league-leading University of the East (UE) Junior Red Warriors, 2-1, to settle for fifth place in the UAAP Season 88 boys’ tennis tournament on Sunday, March 15, at the Colegio San Agustin-Bulacan Tennis Court.
The Junior Tennisters dropped to a 1-4 win-loss record to finish their campaign. Meanwhile, UE remained undefeated and will move on to the Final Four with a 5-0 slate.
Junior Red Warrior Tristan Licayan made quick work of Nico Olalia, 6-0, 6-0.
UST’s Rastan Baje overcame Khean Nuñez, 5-7, 7-5, 6-1, in the second singles match.
Baje and Olalia then absorbed a 6-1, 6-1 defeat from UE duo Aser Delos Santos and Jason Battad.
