UAAP beach volleyball MVP Babylove Barbon teamed up with defending champion UST Golden Tigresses to beat the National University Lady Bulldogs, 25-19, 25-22, 25-19, and settle third place in the 22nd Philippine University Games women’s volleyball tournament held at San Agustin, Iloilo Saturday.
The Lady Tigresses failed in their bid for a fourth straight title.
The De La Salle Lady Archers ruled this year’s tournament followed by the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
Barbon posted five points coming from 3 spikes and a couple of aces for the Golden Tigresses.
Imee Hernandez spearheaded UST’s attack with 17 points from 11 spikes and six blocks while Rachelle Roldan added 12 points from seven spikes and five aces.
The tournament, hosted by the University of San Agustin, ran from October 20 to 27.
