THE UST Junior Tiger Spikers missed a finals ticket after being swept by the Far Eastern University Baby Tamaraws, 25-22, 25-20, 29-27, in the UAAP Season 82 boys’ volleyball semifinals at the Paco Arena Wednesday.

FEU broke away from a 23-all tie in the third salvo with a 6-4 run to complete the sweep and advance to the finals.

Ang daming errors sa crucial part ng game. ‘Yon ang nakita naming reason why we lost,” UST assistant coach Rommel Abella told the Varsitarian.

Trailing 14-15 in the second frame, the Baby Tamaraws outscored UST, 11-5, to take the lead and secure a 2-0 set advantage.

FEU dominated the service department with 7 aces while UST only had one.

France Lander Racaza led the Baby Tamaraws with 13 points while Rans Wesley Cajolo added 11 markers.

Jay Rack De La Noche and Charles Jordan Segui tallied 12 and 11 points respectively for UST.

The Junior Tiger Spikers finished the season at fourth place, a rank lower than last year.

Ngayon magbabalik aral muna sila, [magrerecruit kami] and we’ll look for tournaments na puwedeng salihan para maka-gain ang mga bata ng necessary experience para sa susunod na UAAP,” Abella said.
