UST dominated the attack department, 43-27.

In the first set, Golden Spikers capitalized on the Falcons’ early errors to build a 12-7 lead. From there, UST mounted a 9-4 spurt to balloon its lead to 10, 21-11.

An off-the-block kill by Trevor Valera and an outside attack from Richard Besorio gave the first set to the Golden Spikers, 25-16.

Tied at 4-all early in the second set, UST unleashed a 14-7 blitz, capped by JJ Macam’s attack, to take a seven-point lead, 18-11. Adamson inched closer through a 7-3 run, 21-18, before the Golden Spikers fended off the late rally, 25-20.

Up by one, 12-11, UST ignited a 6-2 run, capped by an ace from Ybañez, to widen the lead to five, 18-13.

UST’s errors kept the game close from there before returning outside hitter Gboy De Vega’s attack and an Adamson service error sealed the win for the Golden Spikers, 25-22.

Richard Besorio led the Falcons with seven points.

The Golden Spikers will next face the UP Fighting Maroons on Wednesday, March 11, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
