The UST Golden Tigresses will keep setter Cassie Carballo for Season 89, while Reg Jurado and Xyza Gula remain undecided on their future after graduation.

Carballo, who recorded 35 excellent sets in the semifinal loss to the National University Lady Bulldogs, confirmed she will return for Season 89, citing remaining academic units in her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in human resource management at UST.

“Technically may one year pa ako,” Carballo, the Season 86 Best Setter, said postgame. “Gustong-gusto ko talaga maglaro muna para sa UST. Sobrang mahal ko ‘yong UST and I am hoping and praying na ‘yong iba, mag-stay din.”

Meanwhile, seniors Jurado and Gula have yet to decide whether they will use their final playing year with the Tigresses.

“As of now, undecided pa ako,” Jurado, UST’s top scorer with 19 points against NU, said. “Weighing in pa ako sa pros and cons ng pag-stay [sa UST] at pag-punta sa pro.”

The Tigresses secured their second straight bronze-medal finish after their loss to NU. Their last finals appearance came in Season 86, when they were swept by the Lady Bulldogs.
