UST Golden Tigresses Jonna Perdido and Xyza Gula are set to turn professional, the Varsitarian has learned.
IPEA Director Fr. Rodel Cansancio, O.P., confirmed the decision of the two outside hitters to the Varsitarian. They will leave UST alongside captain-libero Detdet Pepito.
“Xyza, Jonna, and Detdet are [going] pro,” Cansancio told the Varsitarian. “The others are staying with the team.”
Earlier, setter Cassie Carballo also confirmed her return for Season 89 with the Tigresses.
Opposite spiker Reg Jurado and open spiker Angge Poyos are expected to form the core of UST’s roster next season.
Perdido returned to action this year after recovering from a torn ACL. She has been part of the Tigresses since Season 84.
Gula, meanwhile, has been with the Tigresses since Season 85.
