The UST Junior Golden Tigresses swept California-based Perfect Set Dreammakers, 25-15, 25-18, to secure their second straight victory in the 2026 Shakey’s Super League National Invitationals on Monday, July 13, at the Playtime FilOil Arena.
The win improved UST’s record to 2-0, while the Dreammakers dropped to 0-2.
Kaite Noerine Cruz led the Junior Golden Tigresses with six points built on five attacks and one service ace, while Ma. Lyzah Pauline Moreno chipped in five markers.
UST took control early in the first set, opening a 16-7 lead behind back-to-back attacks from Nicole Pelaez. The Junior Golden Tigresses never looked back, with Anneli Sophia Manzanillo’s quick attack sealing the 25-15 set victory.
The España-based squad carried its momentum into the second set, storming to a 9-0 lead. Perfect Set Dreammakers answered with an 18-14 run to trim the deficit to 23-17, but Akishia Tuballa ended the rally with the match-clinching spike as UST wrapped up the set, 25-18.
Nizmund Manalad scored six points to lead the Dreammakers, while Maya Barrera contributed five in the loss.
The Junior Golden Tigresses will look to remain unbeaten when they take on Guam-based Pacific Volleyball Academy on Tuesday, July 14, at the same venue. Jay-z V. Perez
