THREE Thomasians landed in the top 10 of the August 2025 licensure examinations for food technologists, making UST the No. 5 top-performing school.
Leading the batch of newly minted food technologists was Nathan Orencia, who snagged the No. 1 spot nationwide with a rating of 88%.
Other Thomasian standouts include Aaron Juson who placed fourth with a 86.75% rating, along with Ellaine Pahunang of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines.
Nicole Serafico took the No. 9 spot, along with nine examinees from four other schools, with a rating of 85.50%.
UST produced 54 new food technologists from a pool of 62 examinees, good for an 87.10% passing rate and an improvement from its 68.32% rating (69 of 101) it recorded in the last examination cycle.
The University of the Philippines Diliman emerged as the top-performing school after posting a 100% passing rate (40 of 40).
The national passing rate climbed to 62.94% (586 of 931) from the 51.26% (510 of 995) tallied in the 2024 examination cycle.
The August 2025 licensure examinations for food technologists was conducted from Aug. 14 to 15.
