A UST Mechanical Engineering graduate ranked fifth nationwide in the August 2025 licensure examinations for mechanical engineers.
Carl Sadie led the crop of new Thomasian mechanical engineers with a 90% score, tying with Jose Gaquit of Cebu Institute of Technology – University and Paul Posadas of University of San Carlos.
UST posted a 57.95% passing rate (51 out of 88), an improvement from the 51.35% rating (76 of 148) it recorded in February 2025.
John Enriquez of Batangas State University Alangilan topped the examinations with a 92.60% score.
The national passing rate fell to 40.81 (1,554 out of 3,808) from 48.89% (3,089 of 6,318) in the previous cycle.
The August 2025 licensure exams for mechanical engineers were held from Aug. 9 to 11.
