THE UNIVERSITY’s official broadcast arm, Tiger Media Network (TMN), bagged major awards at the 2025-2026 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) College Media Conference held on Feb. 23 in New York City.
Ofelia Valmocina, a communication senior, bagged Best Business Director for Television, while communication junior Ana Barbara Tumala received the Best Creative Services Director for Television Award.
Line One, a production group composed of third-year UST Department of Communication students, won the Best Use of Graphics Award for its production “The Hex: Mind Over Matter.”
TMN was a finalist in the Best Streaming Only Station and Best College/University Television Station categories.
Other Thomasians named IBS finalists were:
- Sharella Anadi – Best Station Manager
- Kathleen Vallo – Best Social Media Director
- Dean Pinza – Best Promotions Director
- Florian Dilagan – Best Sports Director
Anadi, head of Tiger TV, said this year’s recognition reflected the passion and craft of the network and its members.
“For the network, this recognition is highly significant because it is more than just recognition; it is a celebration of the effort of the student-volunteers, support staff from the Communications Bureau, and the Thomasians who share their stories,” she told the Varsitarian.
“Each piece we create is more than just a material for broadcast,” Anadi added. “It is an effort to honor Thomasian narratives and to show that the skills we hone within the halls of University of Santo Tomas can stand confidently [and meet] global standards.”
TMN also earned finalist citations for the following entries:
- UAAP Season 88 Coverage – Best Sport Report
- Tatak Tomasino (Go USTe Episode) – Best Documentary
- Tiger Media Network Website – Best Website – Radio
- Tiger Rush – Best Use of Video in the Radio Studio
- Detdet Pepito and Trevor Valera episode of Streak Online – Best Comedy Program
Line One’s “Tiger Grooves: The Final Groove” was also a finalist for the Best Show Promotional Poster.
