THE UNIVERSITY has improved in its global position in the 2026 EduRank ranking of universities, keeping its spot as the fourth best school in the Philippines.
In the latest rankings released on March 15, UST rose by 677 places, ranking 1,951st out of 14,131 universities ranked worldwide.
UST also advanced its Asia ranking, climbing to the 531st spot out of 5,830 in the region.
UST recorded 4,649 publications and 56,509 citations.
It maintained its top position in occupational therapy, offered under UST’s College of Rehabilitation Sciences, putting it at 982nd place in Asia.
The University produced the most research in the country in the fields of biology (2,674 papers with 40,622 citations), liberal arts & social sciences (2,632 publications with 25,649 citations), and medicine (2,516 publications with 41,263 citations).
It logged 2,060 publications with 22,182 citations under environmental science, and 1,687 publications with 15,745 citations under political science.
The University of the Philippines remained the top higher education in the Philippines, placing 1,299th globally. De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University followed at 1,569th and 1,731st worldwide, respectively.
Globally, Harvard University retained its position as the top university, tallying 690,984 publications with 45,464,289 citations.
Only 32 universities in Asia entered the top 300 of EduRank, led by the University of Tokyo in Japan with 463,257 publications with 13,180,669 citations.
EduRank provides independent rankings of 14,131 universities across 183 using three criteria: research performance (45%), non-academic prominence (45%), and alumni score (10%).
