THE UNIVERSITY emerged as the third top-performing school in the August 2025 licensure examinations for medical technologists, where 215 Thomasian examinees, including six topnotchers, passed.
UST recorded a 97.73% passing rate (215 of 220), an improvement from the 89.61% rate (69 of 77) tallied in the March 2025 cycle.
John Christian Catahumber led the new batch of new Thomasian medical technologists, placing No. 3 nationwide with a score of 92.60%.
Joining him in the top 10 are fellow UST alumni Ernest Gutierrez (No. 5, 92.20%), Giliah De Maliwat and Gabriel Macapagal (No. 6, 92%), Marc Miranda (No. 7, 91.90%), and Vincent Masil (No. 8, 91.80%).
Former Varsitarian Science and Technology editor Liam Sebastian Sanchez was among the licensure examination passers.
Myles Ejara of the University of the Immaculate Conception in Davao topped the examination, scoring 93.10%.
Saint Louis University became the top-performing school after recording a 98.28% passing rate (57 out of 58).
The national passing rate decreased to 77.54% (3,660 out of 4,720) from 80.26% (6,147 out of 7,659) in the previous examination cycle.
