THE UNIVERSITY admitted a total of 42,994 students in Term 2 of Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026, data released by the Office of the Registrar on Jan. 26 showed.
This year’s turnout was 3.34% higher than the previous academic year’s Term 2 of 41,605 enrollees.
For several academic years, turnout of enrollees for Term 2 was always lower than the Term 1 turnout.
This year’s second semester enrollment was 4.6% lower than the first semester’s.
UST’s Term 2 population consisted of 35,548 enrollees from the undergraduate and graduate programs, 1,523 in Senior High School, 5,552 in Junior High School, and 371 in Education High School (EHS), of which 36 enrolled in EHS Senior High.
The Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) remained the most populated academic unit in the University with 4,252 students, despite a 1.48% dip from its Term 1 population of 4,315.
Engineering logged a total of 3,892 enrollees in Term 2, the second highest throughout the academic units, despite a 3.06% dip from the previous term’s 4,015 students.
Pharmacy remained the third most populous academic unit in UST despite a decrease of 5.51% with 3,257 enrollees in Term 2, from 3,447 in Term 1.
Artlets, Engineering and Pharmacy also tallied the highest number of enrollees in Term 2 of AY 2024-2025.
The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery recorded the steepest drop in enrollees at 21.57%, with 1,658 students in Term 2 from 2,114 in the previous term.
The Faculty of Civil Law and Conservatory of Music followed suit, with 19.78% (714 from 890), and 15.21% (379 from 447), respectively.

Review classes and short courses saw an increase in Term 2, recording 60 enrollees from 51 in Term 1, up 17.65%.
The regular enrollment period ran from Jan. 12 to 16, while late enrollment ended on Jan. 26.
Classes for Term 2 started on Jan. 16.
