THE UNIVERSITY produced 26 new electronics engineers and 17 electronics technicians in the March 2026 licensure examinations.

UST logged a 76.47% passing rate (26 of 34 examinees) in the electronics engineers examinations, higher than 67.24% (78 out of 116 examinees) in October 2025.

The national passing rate rose to 61.62% (1,692 of 2,746) from 44.85% (1,040 of 2,319) of the previous cycle.

Carl Malinao of Xavier University placed first with a score of 93.80%.

Technological University of the Philippines Visayas achieved a passing rate of 91.67% (55 of 60), placing first in the category of 20 or more examinees and at least 80% passing rate.

UST improved its passing rate to 94.44% (17 of 18) in the electronics technicians exams from 79.80% (79 out of 99) in the previous cycle.

The separate national electronics technicians passing rate improved to 78.16% (1,907 out of 2,440) from 65.22% (1,142 out of 1,751).

Herald Cagas of the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas and John Morillo of Camarines Sur Polytechnic College Nabua both placed first with a score of 94.00%.

Polytechnic University of the Philippines Sta. Mesa was the top-performing school with 100 or more examinees with a score of 88.11%.

The licensure examinations for electronics engineers and electronic technicians were administered on March 17 to 18.
