UST produces 78 new electronics engineers, 79 new electronics technicians

THE UNIVERSITY produced 78 new electronics engineers out of the 116 Thomasian examinees who took the October 2025 licensure board examinations. 

UST logged a 67.24% passing rate, higher compared with the 52.71% (24 out of 46) it recorded in the April 2025 examination cycle. 

Andrei Chu of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman topped the examination with a 92% score. 

UP Diliman emerged as the top-performing school after recording a 96.72% passing rate, with 59 out of its 61 examinees passing the test. 

The national passing rate decreased to 44.85% (1,040 out of 2,319), compared with 45.39% recorded in the April 2025 cycle. 

The October 2025 licensure exams for electronics engineers were held on Oct. 18 and 19. 

Electronics technicians 

A total of 79 out of 99 Thomasian examinees passed the separate licensure examinations for electronics technicians.

UST recorded  a 79.80% passing rate in this cycle, a dip from the April 2025 cycle’s 84.62% (22 out of 26). 

Ace Ilustrisimo of Cebu Institute of Technology University led the new batch of electronics technicians with a 92% score. 

UP Diliman and Ateneo de Davao University were named top-performing schools as both universities attained a 100% passing rate. 

The national passing rate for the October 2025 electronics technician licensure examinations dipped to 65.22% (1,142 out of 1,751), from the previous cycle’s with 81.75% (1,971 out of 2,411).
