THE UNIVERSITY produced 78 new mechanical engineers in the February 2026 licensure examinations for mechanical engineers.

The number came from a pool of 106 Thomasian examinees.

UST’s passing rate increased to 73.58% (78 passers out of 106 examinees) from the 57.95% (51 passers out of 88 examinees) rating tallied in August 2025.

Jose Arnil Corong Jr. of Visayas State University Baybay led the crop of newly minted mechanical engineers with a 93.25% score.

The University of the Philippines Diliman took the lead as the top-performing school with all of its 64 examinees making the cut, or a 100% passing rate.

The national passing rate improved to 51.86% (3,264 passers out of 6,294 examinees) from the 40.81% (1,554 passers out of 3,808 examinees) logged in the previous examination cycle.

The February 2026 mechanical engineering board exams were held from Feb. 11 to 13.
