THE UNIVERSITY produced 94 new certified public accountants (CPAs) in the May 2025 certified public accountant licensure examinations.
This number came from a pool of 127 Thomasian examinees, good for a 74.02% passing rate.
UST’s passing rate almost matched the 74.43% rating it tallied in December 2024, when 195 out of 262 Thomasian examinees passed, including three topnotchers.
John Elrich Gamboa of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman led the new crop of CPAs with a 92.67% score.
UP Diliman emerged as the top-performing school, with all of its 60 examinees making the cut.
The national passing rate improved to 33.11% (3,156 of 9,533) from 30.17% (3,058 of 10,136) in the previous cycle.
The May 2025 licensure exams for certified public accountants were conducted from May 25 to 27.
