The UST Publishing House (USTPH) is set to release nine new titles ahead of the country’s longest-running book festival, Manila International Book Fair, set for Sept. 9 to 13 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Among the publication’s new releases is the memoir “My Life With Sin” by Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Sócrates Villegas, O.P.
Broadcast journalist Howie Severino will also launch a compendium of essays spanning 20 years of his life, titled “People I Knew and Some I Didn’t Know But Wrote About Them Anyway.”
Acclaimed author Epifanio San Juan Jr. will release his third book under the USTPH, “Apolinario Mabini: Kasaysayan at Pagsilang ng Kamalayang Makabayan sa Matris ng Himagsikan.”
John Leihmar Toledo, an English instructor at Ateneo de Manila University and alumnus of the UST National Writers Workshop, will publish an English translation of one of Ricky Lee’s acclaimed novels, retitled “Amapola in 65 Chapters.”
“Labor Room,” a compilation of dramatic works by playwright and author Ma. Cecilia De La Rosa, is also among the upcoming releases.
Award-winning poet Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta will release a new collection of poems, titled “Vega.”
An anthology of short stories, “2020 Ang Hinaharap sa Isang Iglap (Mga Dagli),” edited by UP Diliman creative writing professors Rommel Rodriguez and Mykel Andrada, will also be featured in the fair.
Emil Francis Flores, a professor of creative writing and popular literature at UP Diliman, edited “Panel Transitions: Essays on Comics in the Philippines,” a collection of literary criticism.
Award-winning author and journalist Karl De Mesa will publish photo essays in “Chasing Spirit: Field Dispatches and Collected Stories in Monochrome Mobile Photographs.” Charlize Ann D. Lavastida
