THE UNIVERSITY has relaunched “USTV+,” an award for media excellence that will recognize individuals, “influencers,” and programs across communication and journalism, entertainment, and science and health.
Aside from recognizing television content, the 2026 edition of the USTV+ Awards will be conferred on practitioners in digital and social media and other emerging media formats.
“The designation ‘USTV+’ signifies the expanded scope of the awards, highlighting that recognition is conferred on the basis of the quality, relevance, and impact of media content regardless of platform,” UST Secretary General Fr. Louie Coronel, O.P. said in a memorandum.
The relaunched USTV+ Awards adopted a “weighted voting system” for select discipline cluster-based award categories.
This will “promote a more equitable and representative evaluation of nominees” by considering the academic context and the choice of the student body, the memo stated.
