A TOTAL of 44,812 students enrolled in UST Manila for Term 1 of Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026, a 4.36% increase from last year’s 42,941 enrollees, according to the Office of the Registrar.
UST’s student population consisted of 37,370 students in undergraduate and graduate programs, 5,549 students in Senior High School (SHS), 1,522 students in Junior High School, and 371 students in Education High School (EHS), of which 36 are from the newly established EHS-SHS.
The Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) logged the highest enrollment turnout this year at 4,315 students, followed by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Pharmacy with 4,015 and 3,447 students, respectively.
Higher turnouts were observed in the following academic units:
- Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (2,114 from 1,904 last year)
- College of Science (2,860 from 2,693)
- Graduate School (1,774 from 1,613)
- College of Education (1,402 from 1,253)
- College of Rehabilitation Sciences (1,245 from 1,146)
- Institute of Physical Education (524 from 248)
- College of Commerce and Business Administration (2,826 from 2,741)
- College of Fine Arts and Design (1,897 from 1,839)
- College of Nursing (753 from 698)
- Alfredo M. Velayo-College of Accountancy (1,970 from 1,922)
- Graduate School of Law (156 from 112)
- Faculty of Civil Law (890 from 848)
- College of Architecture (1,920 from 1,889)
- Faculty of Canon Law (84 from 80)
- College of Information and Computing Sciences (2,354 from 2,352)
Other academic units recorded a dip in enrollment turnout: the Faculty of Philosophy (93 from 108) and the Conservatory of Music (447 from 467). The Faculty of Sacred Theology maintained its enrollment headcount (185).
Freshmen enrollment up
Freshmen enrollment also saw an improvement this year, rising to 14,463 across college and basic education units from 13,488 last year, or a 7.23% increase.
The freshman population consisted of 11,236 students in undergraduate and graduate programs, 2,733 students in SHS, 375 students in Junior High School, 83 students in EHS, and the 36 pioneers from EHS-SHS.
The two academic units with the highest enrollment also tallied the highest freshman intake, with Artlets tallying 1,265 first-year students and the Faculty of Engineering logging 1,105 freshmen.
The Graduate School admitted the third-highest number of freshmen at 929, followed by the Faculty of Pharmacy at 913 students.
The regular enrollment period at UST concluded on Aug. 8, while the enrollment for late enrollees began on Aug. 9 and lasted until Aug. 22. Students who enrolled late had to pay a penalty.
UST Manila capped this year’s freshmen onboarding activities with the ALAB, or the welcome rites for basic education students, and the Thomasian Welcome Concert on Aug. 7. Undergraduate freshmen attended the Welcome Walk on Aug 6.
