THE VARSITARIAN, the official student publication of the University, will host its first-ever election forum with the Thomasian Debaters Council (TDC) on Monday, April 13, at the Engineering Conference Hall of the Roque Ruaño Building.
The forum forms part of Botomasino, the Varsitarian’s special coverage of the Central Student Council (CSC) Executive Board and local student council elections, aimed at helping Thomasians better assess candidates’ platforms, positions, and leadership capabilities ahead of the polls.
CSC aspirants set to participate in the forum are Annie Agon (president), Franz Salangsang (vice president), Clarence Mindo and Elijah Viola (secretary), Zedrich Daz (treasurer), and Errol Arvy Salamatin and Mecaella Capalar (public relations officer).
A series of questions on key student issues, governance, and policies will be posed to the candidates, followed by a moderated for-or-against segment.
The event will be livestreamed on the Varsitarian’s official Facebook page from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The voting period is scheduled from April 20 to 25, with the proclamation of winners set on April 25.
