THE FAITHFUL must reexamine their consciences and check whether they belong in the “good side” or “bad side,” acting UST Parish Priest Fr. Isidro Abaño, O.P., said during Palm Sunday Mass at the Santisimo Rosario Parish Church on Sunday, April 13.
In his homily, Abaño said that the behavior of the Pharisees, the scribes, the crowd, Herod, Pontius Pilate, and the Roman soldiers should be shunned by the faithful.
Instead, they should emulate Mary and the apostles in being one with Jesus’ suffering.
Kaisa ni Kristo,” Abaño said.
The values of “Team Kabutihan” also include repentance and self-awareness, Abaño said.
Abaño urged the faithful to choose goodness at all times.
“[Sa] ‘Team Kabutihan,’ hindi pa rin nawawala ang pag-ibig, pag-asa, ang pagiging maawain, ang panig ng katotohanan, pasasalamat, kaligtasan,” he said.
Palm Sunday – also called Passion Sunday – commemorates Christ’s entry to Jerusalem, accompanied by a jubilant crowd who laid garments on the ground and threw leafy branches out of palm trees.
It marks the first day of Holy Week.
