FR. GLEN Mar Gamboa O.P., a UST Faculty of Canon Law professor, has been appointed by Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula as the new parish priest of the Santisimo Rosario Parish.

The parish confirmed the appointment on April 29 in a Facebook post.

Gamboa started his new post on May 1.

He replaced Fr. Isidro Abaño, O.P., who had been serving as acting parish priest of UST since Jan. 9, following the end of Fr. Paul Reagan Talavera, O.P.’s six-year term to join a Dominican mission in Gibraltar.

Prior to his new post, he was assigned to the Dominican-run Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag and to a Dominican mission in Camiguin.

The canon law professor earned his sacred theology degree at the University in 2015.

He obtained his licentiate in canon law also in UST in 2021. The same year, he was ordained to the priesthood.

During his time as a canon law student, he served as the president of the Faculty of Canon Law Student Council and a member of the Central Judiciary Board.

He was the chaplain of Tiples de Santo Domingo, the oldest boys’ choir in the Philippines.
