THE CONSERVATORY of Music and UST Junior High School performed a lively Christmas repertoire in a concert titled “Christmas at the Museum: Musical Night” last Nov. 16 to 17 at the UST Museum.
Accompanied by percussionist Marco Raquiza, the UST Guitar Octet opened the concert with American guitarist Andrew York’s “Djembe.”
It was followed by the Conservatory’s Faculty Guitar Quartet rendition of “Blue Ocean Echo/Country Gentlemen” by American composer Chet Atkins.
UST Woodwind Quintet also performed Mozart’s “Sonata in F, First Movement,” and “Nutcracker Suite” by Russian composer Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The concert was capped by Music professor Alberto Mesa’s arrangement of “Kumukuti-kutitap.”
UST Museum administrator Fr. Isidro Abaño, O.P. said the concert sought to highlight the Thomasians’ talent in music and arts as well as to revive activity in the museum.
