KABILANG ang maikling pelikulang “Golden” na nilikha ng alumni ng UST sa pandaigdigang kompetisyong Lift-Off Global Network Sessions (LOGNS) ngayong taon.
Ang “Golden” ay gawa nina Isabel Reyes, Pauline Linsangan, Lynette Pamintuan, Patricia Calaguas, Corheinne Colendres, Aira Bugna, Arrienne Enriquez, Francine Aspa at Kathleen David.
Lahat sila ay nagtapos ng kursong communication arts sa Unibersidad ngayong taon.
Ang “Golden” ay sumesentro sa buhay ng isang estudiyante na bumaling sa sugal nang maalis ang kaniyang scholarship.
“She needs help, but instead, she’s kicked out of her scholarship because her teachers (the very same people she was told to trust) took advantage of her because they know wala naman siya magagawa,” wika ni Reyes sa isang panayam sa Varsitarian.
Korupsyon ang isa sa mga pangunahing tema ng pelikula.
“We didn’t want to create something cliché, or maybe something rather ‘easy and simple.’ We wanted a challenge, and so that’s why we ventured into crime,” wika ni Reyes.
Nais ng all-female crew na magbigay ng kapangyarihan sa mga kababaihan.
“Gusto namin ibida the fact na all-women production team kami. I believe the empowerment we’re talking about is already evident behind the camera; gusto namin mag-reflect yun sa film,” wika ni Reyes.
Ipinalabas ang “Golden” sa online streaming application na Vimeo noong ika-23 ng Agosto.
Ang LOGNS ay isang online showcase na nagtatanghal sa mga pelikula sa Pinewood Studios, United Kingdom at Raleigh Studios, Hollywood sa Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival. Beatrice Nolene H. Crucillo
