28 November 2012, 11:18 p.m. – THE UNIVERSITY bounced back to second place in the roster of top-performing schools in the civil engineering board exams this year, posting a passing rate of 87.74 percent.

A total of 136 passed out of 155 Thomasian examinees, data from the Professional Regulation Commission showed.

UST trailed behind University of the Philippines-Diliman, which got a 97.65-percent passing rate. Last year, UST dropped out of the list of top-performing schools with its passing rate dipping to 79.57 percent.

However, no Thomasian entered the top 10 list this time, unlike last year when two Thomasians grabbed the sixth and 10th places.

Meanwhile, this year’s national passing rate went up to 41.41 percent as 2,380 out of 5,747 examinees made the cut. Last year, 1,770 out of the 5,163 passed the exam, equivalent to a 34.28-percent passing rate. Cez Mariela Teresa G. Verzosa
