UST posts 73-percent passing rate in March 2017 mech eng’g exams

THE UNIVERSITY registered a 72.73-perent passing rate in the March 2017 mechanical engineering board exams, results from the Professional Regulation Commission showed.

Eight Thomasians made the cut out of 11 who took the exam. This was lower than last year’s 81.08 percent, in which 30 Thomasians made the cut out of 37 examinees.

Brylle Glbuena of the University of Cebu emerged as this year’s topnotcher, after scoring 88.10 percent.

Batangas State University-Alangilan was named this year’s top-performing school, with all its 66 examinees passing the exam.

The national passing rate rose to 56.88 percent, with 1,083 passing the test out of 1,904 examinees. Last year’s passing rate was 55.32 percent, with just 910 passing the test out of 1,645 examinees.
