THE UNIVERSITY posted a 44.36-percent passing rate in the May 2019 certified public accountant licensure examinations.
Fifty-nine out of 133 Thomasians passed. Last year’s passing rate was 68 percent, or 68 out of 100 examinees.
Josemaria Alvaro Fontillas and Geraldine Jade Papa of De La Salle University in Manila led the new batch of accountants, scoring 89.83 percent.
La Salle remained the top-performing school. It posted an 84.72-percent passing rate, or 61 out of 72 examinees.
The national passing rate went down to 16.46 percent, or 1,699 out of 10,319 examinees, from last year’s 28.92 percent or 2,843 out of 9,830 takers.
