New tourism dean, admissions director named; Timoner is new chancellor

UST RECTOR Fr. Herminio Dagohoy, O.P. has appointed a new dean for the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) and a new director for the Office for Admissions (OFAD).

Former OFAD Director Gezzez Giezi Granado was named the new CTHM dean, replacing Asst. Prof. Ma. Cecilia Tio Cuison who served as college dean for a decade.

Granado, an alumnus of CTHM, passed the bar examinations in 2005.

He was named CTHM faculty secretary in 2013 and OFAD director in 2016.

Assoc. Prof. Imelda Abao-Dakis from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery was appointed OFAD director.

Dakis is a professor at the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Nutrition in Medicine.

Prior to her appointment, she was executive assistant to the secretary general.

Fr. Gerard Timoner, O.P. is the University’s new chancellor by virtue of his election as the 88th Master of the Order of Preachers last July 13.

Granado and Dakis’ appointments took effect on Aug. 1.
