THE UNIVERSITY has named two new administrative officials for UST General Santos City (GenSan), which is set to open in Academic Year (AY) 2024 to 2025. 

In a circular dated March 14, the Office of the Secretary General (OSG) announced the appointment of Fr. Roberto Luanzon Jr., O.P. as officer in charge of the Mindanao campus’ Office of the Associate Vice Rector for Finance. Luanzon is also the vice rector for finance of the Manila campus.

Fr. Gerard Zabala, O.P., who is assigned to the Dominican Filial House of San Martin de Porres in GenSan, was named associate vice rector for religious affairs. 

The University has so far appointed four administrative officials for UST GenSan since the start of the calendar year.

The UST GenSan Main Building, the first edifice in the Mindanao campus, is set to be inaugurated on April 11. The list of programs to be offered is awaiting the approval of the Commission on Higher Education.

The OSG also made formal the designation of Asst. Prof. Jaezamie Ong, the assistant principal for student formation at UST Senior High School and a faculty member at the Department of Literature, as officer in charge of UST Manila’s Office for Student Affairs.

Ong replaced OSA Director Maria Cecilia Tio Cuison, who went on medical leave.

Niña Kathryn Alfeche of the Department of  Biology will serve as the acting college secretary of the College of Science.
