THE UNIVERSITY will parade six teams in three events at the annual Philippine University Games in Dumaguete City from Oct. 26 to Oct. 28.
UST will field both men’s and women’s teams in indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and athletics in the three-day tournament.
IPEA Director Fr. Ermito de Sagon, O.P. said the UniGames would be a good outlet for athletes in second-semester UAAP events to enhance their skills.
“The good thing about the UniGames is that there is so many teams. Also, that is the time when we try to recruit some players from other universities,” de Sagon said in an interview with the Varsitarian.
The tournament will follow a single round-robin format. “Unlike UAAP na two rounds, isahan lang (ang laban). Matalo ka, your chances will become smaller,” de Sagon said.
