Thomasian pole vaulter EJ Obiena secured his third podium finish after bagging the bronze medal in the Mondo Classic in Uppsala, Sweden on Friday (PH Time). 

Obiena recorded his season best after clearing 5.91 meters in his third attempt. 

KC Lightfoot of the United States also surpassed the same height and escaped Obiena via countback after successfully clearing the bar in only two tries. 

Obiena tried to go beyond 5.91 meters to compete for a silver finish but failed to clear the 6.05 meter benchmark. 

World record holder Armand Duplantis bagged the gold medal after clearing 6.10 meters.  

The UST Trackster will continue his international campaign in the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships on Feb. 10 to 12 in Kazakhstan. John Peter L. Cajayon
