THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Lady Maroons obliterated the UST Female Shuttlers, 5-0, in the UAAP season 82 women’s badminton tournament at the Camp Crame Badminton Court in Quezon City Sunday.
UST’s Kristeen Kyle Geronimo crumbled versus Fighting Maroon Janelle Andres, 21-13, 13-21, 11-21 while Aldreen Concepcion surrendered to UP’s Elij Maridaine Peña, 6-21, 21-14, 18-21.
UST duo Samantha Chozas and Maria Therese Tumbali lost to Andres and Tricia Opon 17-21, 11-21, before Geronimo and Stephanie Grace Mortera faltered against UP’s Virginia Lopez and Andrea Abalos,10-21, 12-21.
Mortera also lost to Lady Maroon Airish Macalino, 21-13, 21-13.
The Female Shuttlers will try to bounce back against the De La Salle University Lady Archers on Sept. 24, Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the Centro Athletico Badminton Court in Cubao.
