Tamaraws dismantle UST

THE FEU Tamaraws used a strong fourth quarter to crush the winless UST Growling Tigers, 78-65, at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.

FEU uncorked a 14-2 run at the start of the payoff period to pull away from the Tigers, 63-48.

Jasper Parker’s three-pointer gave FEU its biggest lead of the game, 72-55, with 3:14 to go.

FEU outscored the Tigers in the fourth, 29-17.

Ron Dennison and Arvin Tolentino led FEU with 15 points apiece.

Jeepy Faundo led UST with 16 markers while Jordan Sta. Ana chipped in 11 points.

The Tamaraws had 20 assists on 30-made field goals. They also had 17 fastbreak points against UST’s five.

UST remained winless in four games while the Tamaraws improved to a 2-2 win-loss card.

The Growling Tigers will next face the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles on Sept. 27, Wednesday, 4 p.m., at the Araneta Coliseum.
