THE CENTRO Escolar University Scorpions demolished the UST Growling Tigers, 104-76, in the University and College Basketball League at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy Wednesday.
The Scorpions used a blistering 28-9 run in the second frame to pull away for good.
The Tigers had 13 of their 22 turnovers at halftime resulting in 21 easy points for CEU. The Scorpions had 18 for the game.
“Ang dami naming turnover, isa lang ang (true) point guard namin kaya pinag point guard namin ‘yong iba pero hindi nag-deliver,” UST assistant coach Bonnie Garcia told the Varsitarian.
The Scorpions led by as many as 41 in the payoff period, 95-54.
Five players scored in double-digits for CEU led by Pierce Chan’s 17 points.
Sherwin Concepcion had 19 markers for UST.
Up next for UST is the National University Bulldogs on June 3, Sunday, 11:30 a.m., at the same venue.
